Sarah’s Therapist Thoughts

Tell us about your role and your clinic? And why do you do this work?

I am the director at Total Health Orange. We are a small private practice located in Orange, NSW and service a wide range of clients across the Central West. We thrive ourselves on offering a high quality therapy and love helping clients to meet their potential.

What is your mission with your work?

Our biggest priority is helping clients to reach their goals. We want to work with clients across a range of settings and see them thrive.

We work with a range of ages but have predominantly been using Theratrak for children and teens.

What’s the hardest thing about your role?

The hardest thing about my role is meeting the demand.

There is a shortage of therapists in regional areas and I am always searching for ways to help more people.

What's a key feature you love on Theratrak?

Theratrak enables us to set up personalised home programs that are motivating and rewarding.

This means that the kids don't need to be nagged by their parents. They usually want to do their program and love ticking off their activities and seeing their rewards.

More time doing therapy means we reach goals faster!

How have you implemented Theratrak into your clinic?

Theratrak has been a huge asset to our team.

We see clients in the clinic for sessions and then set up a home program to ensure they continue to work towards their goals. This was particularly useful during periods of lockdown. It has also meant that some children do not need sessions as regularly and therefore we can see more clients.

What's been the impact of Theratrak in your clinic?

Theratrak is a great way to share therapy activities between team members and to review progress of a child.

We love that it integrates with Cliniko and we don't need to write separate client notes when we complete a program.

It is continually improving and the best bit, is the kids love it!

It saves us so much time and has been a fabulous resource to add to the team.

Have you had a Theratrak win recently?

A clients parent recently reported that after over 10 years of therapy, they have never seen their child motivated to practice or complete therapy at home.

They no longer need to ask them to complete the activities, and what is more, they have seen huge improvements in skill as a result!

What are the most common exercises you prescribe with Theratrak?

In our clinic, we see a range of children. We utilise the routine feature and set up daily routines for children to include getting dressed, brushing teeth etc.

We also use the reflex integration activities along with a lot of fine and gross motor and core strength activities. So much variety.

What advice would you give to a therapist considering using Theratrak at their clinic?

It is a user friendly system that is easily adapted to meet a range of clients needs. I would recommend therapists give it a go. You will love it.

What are the three top features therapists love and why?

Our Therapy Assistants love being able to easily change programs on a regular basis to ensure kids remain interested. They often find some bonus activity ideas on the program as well.

We love being able to add video's to the activities to ensure it is clear to understand as well.

What advice would you give other clinic owners about considering to use Theratrak in their practice?

I highly recommend theratrak. It is easy to use for clinicans and clients alike. It is professional, saves time and is a fabulous program.

What do you think about the future of healthcare?

Healthcare is becoming increasingly difficult to access. I therefore feel that as therapists we need to be adaptable in our approach to therapy. This will ensure we can meet the needs of as many people as possible.

We will always remain focused on the client's goals and search for the best way to assist them to reach these goals.
