Bentley Grattan is a Team Leader & Physiotherapist at Everyday Independence.

Bentley Grattan is a Team Leader and Physiotherapist at Everyday Independence located on the Gold Coast.

Our partners at Everyday Independence has been the leading NDIS therapy provider in Australia for over 20 years.

The Everyday Independence therapy team is made up of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, teachers, mental health nurses, positive behaviour support practitioners and allied health assistants who support people to reduce the everyday impact of physical, psychosocial or intellectual disabilities.

In the interview below, Bentley shares how more about his role and how he uses Theratrak to keep participants engaged between therapy sessions.

Tell us about your role and your clinic? And why do you do this work?

I support people living with a disability to live to their full potential. Disability shouldn’t be a barrier to living a good everyday life and that is where my role as a physiotherapist comes in. At Everyday Independence, we work in an interdisciplinary team to support participants to achieve their outcomes. My role involves working across the lifespan to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives and this is why I love what I do. When I get home from work at the end of the day and get asked “what did you get up to today?”, the answer is easy and consistent – “I spent another day changing people’s lives for the better”.

I hold a team leader role at Everyday Independence and have been fortunate to have the opportunity to lead the Theratrak integration into the therapist toolkit. These roles have supported me to share my skills among our interdisciplinary team and learn from others to ensure that we are providing a high standard of care.

What's a key feature you love on Theratrak?

I love how customizable it is! We are using an enterprise version of the app that is designed to support our participants and aligns perfectly with our organizational values to ‘champion on the person’. Being able to film my participants and call the exercise names that they relate to makes a big difference in their uptake and integration of therapy into their daily routines.

How have you implemented Theratrak into your clinic?

Theratrak has been implemented into the daily routine of our therapist now and will continue to be used as we run a Theratrak Roadshow to showcase the impact it has on achieving positive outcomes for our participants.

What's been the impact of Theratrak in your clinic?

Theratrak is allowing us to personalise therapy and improve the rate of progress towards outcomes. It ensures consistency which supports the capacity building approach that the NDIS relies on to make meaningful changes in people's lives.

What advice would you give to a therapist considering using Theratrak at their clinic?

Theratrak is exceptional for working across disciplines and at putting the person first!

All of us healthcare workers make a meaningful difference in people’s lives and Theratrak is an exceptional tool to do just that.
